Beware of Dragonsplague in Dragon's Dogma 2

In the fantastical world of Dragon's Dogma 2, a curious disease known as Dragonsplague is plaguing pawns, companions who assist players in combat. This insidious ailment turns pawns into murderous ghost dragons, causing chaos and destruction in towns.

How to Avoid Infection

To safeguard pawns from the perils of Dragonsplague, there are a few key precautions to keep in mind:

  • Avoid Dragon Fights: Dragonsplague can be contracted during battles with dragons, so it's wise to avoid these encounters if possible.
  • Inspect Pawn Eyes: When hiring pawns, inspect their eyes. If they glow, it's a sign of the disease.
  • Swap Out Suspect Pawns: If a pawn exhibits aggressive behavior or glowing eyes, it's best to swap them out for a healthy one at a Riftstone.

Consequences of Infection

If a pawn succumbs to Dragonsplague and transforms into a ghost dragon, the consequences can be dire. Upon resting at an inn, the ghost dragon will rampage through the town, slaying every NPC in its path, including questgivers.

Recovery and Prevention

Unfortunately, Dragonsplague has no known cure. To rid a pawn of the disease, you must kill it and revive it using a Wakestone. It's also important to note that the game's save system doesn't allow for multiple saves, so the consequences of the ghost dragon's rampage cannot be undone.

A Unique and Chaotic Mechanic

While the Dragonsplague mechanic can be frustrating for some players, others embrace it as a testament to the game's unique and chaotic nature. It adds an element of unpredictability and reminds players that their choices can have far-reaching consequences.
